The newly established Public Arts Initiative (PAI) of Egg Harbor announces their first call for permanent public art. The organization was created with a strong belief in the positive impact the arts have on our world and to celebrate the power of art in public spaces. Door County attracts more then four million visitors a season, and with that in mind, they have a goal of establishing Egg Harbor as an art destination community celebrating and showcasing the sculptural works of artists.
PAI seeks qualifications from Wisconsin artists or artist/design teams to design, fabricate and install a permanent public artwork at the Bayview Terrace Park in Egg Harbor. The organization is looking for an artist or artist team to create a work of art inspired by the theme of “Foundations: Past, Present and Future.” Egg Harbor’s Bayview Terrace Park has a majestic view with terraced grounds reaching to the public shoreline. Installation of art is targeted for late November 2017. Budget for artwork is $19,500.
Submissions must be made through CaFE Entry (callforentry.org/festivals_unique_info.php?ID=4155). Deadline for submission is April 30. A full description of the call to artists can be viewed at paiofeggharborwi.org or through CaFE Entry.
