Artists Return for 12th Annual Gills Rock ArtFest

On Sept. 1 – 2 from 10 am to 5 pm, the community is invited to Gill’s Rock Coffee (the former Charlene’s Gallery Ten), to see tents filled with fine art, crafts and creative people at work.

More than 15 artists will celebrate the 12th Annual Gills Rock ArtFest on Labor Day Weekend. Charlene Berg, Gallery Ten’s former owner, looks forward to hosting the reunion and festival of creativity.

A variety of pastels, oils, watercolors, drawings, photography, two and three-dimensional mixed media works will be displayed. There will also be fine crafts and jewelry including Beth Parsons’ flame-worked beads and vintage re-purposed jewelry. Mandalas, fiber arts, sun-catchers, and works in wood, plaster, encaustic, bronze and copper will also be displayed. Visitors can even sit for a quick portrait.

Returning artists include Antoinette Cacciotti, Joni Rae Doyle, Kris Franzke, Mark Haberly, Ray Kapfamer, Anne Nikolai Kloss, Norm Knott, Mary Beth Mead, Chris Meissner, Anne Nikolai Kloss and Marcia Nickols.

New participants include Denny Moutray, Stella DeVenuta, Allie Sturomski and Katya Tea.

Many of the artists will be working onsite. Gills Rock Coffee will be open for extended hours on both days from 8 am to 5 pm.

The ArtFest is free and open to the public. For more information call 920.854.9907.
