Artists Sought for Community Mosaic Project

The Hardy Gallery is launching a call for artists to participate in its 15th annual Community Mosaic Project, which began in 2008 in partnership with Artists Guild in Sturgeon Bay as a way to bring the community together and create a visual tapestry of public art.

The Hardy Gallery is seeking submissions of original artwork in any medium from individuals, artists, students and art enthusiasts in the community. Previous submissions have included photography, 3D and sculptural work, assemblages, fiber work, painting, writing and collaborative works. All artwork should fit neatly on a six-inch-by-six-inch canvas with minimal installation difficulty and be accompanied by a completed Artist Statement form. There is a limit of one canvas per participant.

Free canvases will be available at Artists Guild, 215 N. 3rd Ave. in Sturgeon Bay; and the Hardy Gallery, 3083 Anderson Lane in Ephraim, starting May 28, and they will be due back to either location by June 26, finished or unfinished. The grand unveiling will take place at the Hardy Gallery beginning July 16.
