Artrageous Women’s Fund Benefit Celebrates 70+ Door County Female Artists

The Women’s Fund of Door County invites the community to the second annual Artrageous Benefit featuring more than 70 recognized Door County women artists on Sept. 24 at the Rehberger’s Hidden Acres Farm, 1128 Beach Rd., Sister Bay.

“Fostering her appreciation for the arts” and “Recognizing and honoring HER” are priorities for the Women’s Fund, resulting in this one-day opportunity to purchase two and three-dimensional art at the ARTrageous price of $99. A preview of the art begins at 2 pm with greetings and sale beginning at 3:30 pm at the quaint working farm of the historic property.

The drawing for an 18” x 24” pastel, “Wetland Reflections” by award-winning artist Mac Schueppert, will be at 4 pm. Raffle tickets are available at 3 for $20 and 6 for $30. Schueppert, a signature member of the Pastel Society of America, is a renowned plein air and soft pastel artist admired for her fresh, vibrant paintings. Your presence is requested for the drawing.

Enjoy the music of Jeanne Kuhns and Marybeth Mattson throughout the autumn afternoon while meandering the grounds of Hidden Acres Farm and enjoying the art of scores of recognized Door County artists. Admission is $5 at the door and refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon. Cash or checks only will be accepted.

This benefit will support the Women’s Fund of Door County Sustainability Grants and the Community Collaborative Grant to be awarded in 2017. Both support programs and services for women and girls in Door County.

A complete list of participating artists can be viewed at womensfunddoorcounty.org or on Facebook at Women’s Fund of Door County. For more information contact Kacie at [email protected] or 920.746.1786. Special parking for handicapped guests will be available.
