Assistance with Energy Bills

The Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP) in Door County is managed by We Are HOPE, Inc. Individuals needing help with home heating bills are urged to contact the agency. If you have already applied and received a benefit, additional funding may be available for those who heat with natural gas or electricity. If you have not applied since Oct. 1, and your income is at or below 60 percent of the state median income, you may qualify to receive a onetime payment or (regular benefit) toward your heat costs: electric, LP propane or fuel oil. Your application may also be chosen to participate in the weatherization program as well. The deadline to apply is May 15, 2015.
