At the Crossroads

Crossroads at Big Creek will continue offering programming and educational opportunities throughout November.
On Sunday, Nov. 14 the Crossroads will host a Nature Hike at 1 pm. The public is welcome to join a naturalist through a free, one-hour hike of the preserve.
On Monday, Nov. 15 at 2 pm, the Door County Invasive Species will hold their monthly meeting. During the meeting, DNR Biologists Brock Woods and Wade Oehmicken will describe the successes of purple loosestrife-feeding weevil releases and the possibility of instating a spotted knapweed bio-control program. The meeting is free and open to the public.
On Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 7 pm, the Crossroads will present “Introduction to Winter Constellations” at the Stonecipher Astronomy Center. After a brief introduction, participants will study the stars outside.
On Friday, Nov. 18 from 6:30 – 7:30 pm, families are invited to the Collins Leaning Center for an evening of free hands-on activities designed to introduce basic concepts of astronomy. Activities are appropriate for grades 1 – 5, but all are welcome.
