At the Crossroads

On Tuesday, September 7 at 7 pm, the Door Peninsula Astronomical Society will focus on the sun and the moon during their monthly meeting at the Crossroads in Sturgeon Bay. Greg Cupal and David Udell will present a lecture entitled, “Lunar Missions” and Tom Minahan will present a quiz.

The public is welcome and refreshments are served. Attendees are asked to use the Utah Street Entrance to reach the Stonecipher Astronomy Center.

On Wednesday, September 8 at 7 pm, the Crossroads will continue their yearlong exploration of the Niagara Escarpment by hosting the lecture “Exploring Underground Door County.” Sponsored by The Door County Environmental Council, the program will feature Dr. Ken Bradbury, Wisconsin’s leading water geologist. Dr. Bradbury is the a Program Leader at UW-Madison’s School of Hydrology and is the “go to” guy when it comes to fractured aquifers. This program is free and open to the public.

This is the final week of summer education programs at the Crossroads, taking place from Monday through Thursday at 11 am, featuring a variety of topics and free tours from 1:30 – 3:30 pm. On Labor Day, the Crossroads change to fall hours: 2 – 5 pm daily.
