Tai chi Master Chan Ming Shu will lead an international tai chi symposium – teaching tai chi and qigong during four two-hour sessions – Aug. 26-29 at Egg Harbor’s Kress Pavilion. Laughing Tiger Tai Chi and Junction Center Yoga are cosponsoring the symposium.
Chan has been practicing tai chi for nearly 40 years, has represented Taiwan nationally and internationally, and has received many prestigious awards. He earned gold medals at the 1997 East Asian Games and the 1998 Asian Games and was named Champion of Tai Chi Chuan at the National Games in Taiwan a record nine consecutive years.
The instructional fee is $40 per two-hour class. Participants’ skill level should be 13 form or above, but all are welcome at the first two sessions.
Chan will also give a free demonstration of tai chi forms and answer questions Aug. 28, 1 pm, at Egg Harbor’s Harbor View Park.
