Attorney Collin J. Dahl Selected for Wisconsin Pro Bono Honor Society

Attorney Collin J. Dahl of Sister Bay became one of 405 lawyers in Wisconsin awarded with membership in the Wisconsin Pro Bono Honor Society for providing at least 50 hours of qualifying pro bono legal services to people of limited means in 2016. Every year, a great many Wisconsin lawyers volunteer time to help meet the legal needs of low income and vulnerable residents of the state, helping to “ensure equal access to justice for all,” according to an open letter sent by State Supreme Court Justice Patience Drake Roggensack to each of the 2016 Wisconsin Pro Bono Honor Society honorees.

Data from the American Bar Association indicates that, as of 2015, there were 15,481 active resident attorneys in Wisconsin. In the aforementioned open letter, Justice Roggensack stated, “A commitment to pro bono service is an important part of being a Wisconsin lawyer and a distinguishing feature of our profession. Volunteer lawyers also make a valuable contribution to the fair and effective functioning of our courts.”
