Auditions Upcoming for StageKids Christmas Show

Auditions will be held for the Third Avenue Playhouse’s StageKids Christmas show, The Elves and The Shoemaker on Oct. 13 and Oct. 20, 4 – 7 pm. This timeless fairy tale tells the story of a shoemaker and his wife who are struggling to make a living with the help of a few friendly elves.

Parts are available for students in kindergarten through high school. Adults are also welcomed and encouraged to audition. There are several speaking roles as well as chorus singing roles.

No prepared material is needed for the audition, but a list of conflicts from Oct. 23 – Dec. 6 is needed. The final rehearsal schedule will be based upon these conflicts. Rehearsals will be held on selected weeknights and Saturdays starting Oct. 23. Performances will be Dec. 5 – 6 on TAP’s 250-seat main stage.

Another opportunity for middle and high students at TAP is their film lab, held now through Nov. 15. During this lab, students will work with instructor Spencer Milligan to create original film project by acting, writing, directing and operating the camera. Lab students will meet twice a week for six weeks. Wednesday labs will be from 4 – 7 pm and Saturday labs will be from 11 am – 4 pm. Tuition for the lab is $125 and there are scholarships available.
