On July 27, six-year-old Marjorie Aurelius and her mother, Lauren Aurelius, visited the Door County Cooperative Country Store, 317 Green Bay Road in Sturgeon Bay, to stock up on supplies for their new Goldendoodle puppy, Rue. They received Rue through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and they also received a Door County Cooperative account with $500 that they can use for puppy supplies, toys and food. They enjoyed browsing the aisles of pet supplies with help from the staff.
Marjorie was born with a traumatic brain injury that has resulted in numerous health issues. Her family has made several changes during the last year, including different medications that have made it possible for Marjorie to interact more with her environment, and her new puppy is enriching her life in ways that only a puppy can.
The Aurelius family was connected to the Make-A-Wish Foundation through the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. To learn more about the Country Store, call 920.743.3422 or visit doorcountytruevalue.com/country-store.
