Austin’s New Paintings and Adventures

“Budapest at Dusk”

Bridget Austin’s show “New Paintings/New Adventures” opens at Cottage Row Framing & Gallery on July 14. A meet-the-artist reception with light refreshments will be held from 10 am – 1 pm.

The show unveils a wonderful collection of 30 new original watercolors of varying themes and sizes. Subjects include scenes from her trips to Italy, a Danube River cruise, Door County and flowers.

Austin has painted her impressions of nature in watercolor for over 30 years. Her fresh style, use of white paper, negative painting and lively color make her paintings a popular addition to public and private collections. Favorite subjects include Door County landscapes of woods, water and rocks; wildflowers and gardens; nature studies; and scenes from her travels abroad.

She earned Master Status in the Transparent Watercolor Society of America and had paintings accepted in many national and international exhibitions, including both the American and National Watercolor Societies. She has also taught workshops at Peninsula School of Art since 1981 and The Clearing in Ellison Bay since 1985, as well as nationally and internationally.

Cottage Row Framing & Gallery is located at Orchard Country Winery & Market on Highway 42, just south of Fish Creek. The gallery is open daily from 10 am – 5 pm, and Sundays from 10 am – 4 pm. For more information call 920.868.2626.
