Laura J. Beck

Native to Door County, Laura J. Beck won her first writing award for Creative Fiction in sixth grade in the Young Writers Program for her self-bound, self-illustrated, "The Wonderful World of Wamscabam". After college, Beck wrote poems, fiction, and non-fiction for the Peninsula Pulse from 1997 to the present. Sweet Spot, a sensuous dessert column from 2001-2002, still affects the avid sweet tooth.
