“Autumn in the Door” Exhibit Features the Photography of Dan Eggert

The walls of Mr. Helsinki’s in Fish Creek will be the home to “Autumn in the Door,” an exhibit by well-known Door County photographer Dan Eggert. The show will be up from September 1 through October 1, with the exhibit’s opening reception planned for Thursday, September 10 at 7 pm.

Fall in Door County is a welcome sight. For locals, it’s a chance to catch their breath; for visitors, it’s a season that is often underestimated – until a drive through the peninsula reveals its relaxed pace, its unbelievable colors, and a peace that seems almost too good to be true. Eggert has captured this feeling through his lens, and on display at Mr. Helsinki’s are some of his favorite fall photographs and subjects, taken in every possible nook of the peninsula.

“Fall is by far my favorite season on the peninsula,” Eggert says. “I’ve been taking photographs up here for 12 years, and some of these sights – however simple in their composition – still take me by surprise.”

Eggert is a freelance photographer who currently divides his time between Door County and the skiing/snowboarding wonderland of Lake Tahoe, CA. He has worked as the Photo Editor of the Peninsula Pulse since its second year of publication and Door County Living magazine since its beginning. Besides landscapes, he enjoys capturing musicians and artists with his lens – which goes to show that life does indeed imitate art.

A softcover book of the Autumn in the Door exhibit will be available for purchase both at the opening reception and online in addition to the pieces showcased in the exhibit. For more information, please call Dan Eggert at 920.915.8931 or Mr. Helsinki’s at 920.868.9898.
