Northern Door Health & Wellness Ministry continues its Community Health Information Programs with an upcoming presentation on “Slips, Trips and Stumbles: Preventing Falls As We Age.” Come hear Barbara Campbell discuss how to avoid situations that can diminish your mobility. The program will be held on Aug. 24 at the First Baptist Church in Sister Bay and will begin at 4 pm.
Campbell is the retired director of narketing from the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She has been involved in program development in hospitals and health policy centers throughout the U.S., and has developed and coordinated a Community Fall Prevention and Caregiver Training program. In addition, Campbell has launched a Building Better Bones And Balance program to reduce the incidence of hip fractures in older women and men.
The Ministry also offers free blood pressure screenings on the fourth Tuesday of each month at St. Rosalia’s Church at 5 pm and at the Northern Door YMCA on the second Tuesday of each month from 8:15 – 10:15 am. For more information visit NorthernDoorHealthWellness.com.
