Awards Announced for Door Prize for Portraiture

“Fifty-seven” by Mark Zelten won the Best in Show award at the Door Prize for Portraiture.

Guest juror Graeme Reid, director of exhibitions at the Museum of Wisconsin Art in West Bend, announced the award recipients of the Door Prize for Portraiture on June 27 at a reception for the artists and an estimated crowd of 130 at Chez Cheryl Art Space.

Reid quoted Robert Burns and discussed the history of the Australian portrait event that inspired hosts Cheryl Stidwell Parker and Stephen Lavell.

Winners of the Honorable Mention were Archelle “Buttons” Wolst, Sturgeon Bay, for “Irene,” and Jeff Young, Green Bay, for “Lizbeth.” Door Prize Best in Show went to Mark Zelten of Green Bay for his reflective and introspective self-portrait, “Fifty-seven.”
