Awards Banquet

The public is invited to join the Door County Maritime Museum (DCMM), Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club (SBYC) and Greater Green Bay Council of the United States Navy League in honoring all nominees for the Mariner Award and the Sturgeon Bay area Coast Guard Person of the Year. The award presentation dinner takes place Aug. 10 at the SBYC. Social hour begins at 5:30 pm followed by the award dinner at 6:30.

Presented jointly by the DCMM and SBYC, the Mariner Award recognizes individuals who have had a significant, positive, lasting impact on the Door County maritime community.

“Each year, the most difficult job in the whole event falls to the selection committee,” said museum director Bob Desh. “They must choose a winner from among an extraordinary collection of incredibly deserving nominees.”

Dinner includes a salad, rolls, entrée selection (sliced beef tenderloin, seared salmon or rosemary-lemon chicken) and dessert at a cost of $37.50 per person. A portion of the price also covers the cost of hosting and honoring the nominees. A full cash bar is also available. Reservations are required. Contact the Maritime Museum at 920.743.5958 no later than Aug. 4 to make reservations.
