Baeb Endorses Skare

Christopher Baeb, who competed against Dick Skare of Fish Creek for the Democratic nomination in the 1st Assembly District, has announced that he is supporting Skare in his bid against Garey Bies. Below is his announcement.

As Dick’s opponent in the primary election I came to know his positions on the issues that are important to people in Door, Kewaunee and Brown Counties. I believe that Dick better reflects the values of the people of District l, than Gary Bies and the republican agenda, and will be a good representative. I know the hard work it takes in running for state Assembly and I know the Cookery fire disaster would have set most people back. But Dick turned a negative into a positive and used his down time to campaign and get a good “common sense” theme out for us in district #1 and will work tirelessly to bring change to our government.

This could very well be the most important assembly race in the entire state. Control of the Wisconsin Assembly can tip from Republican control to a Democratic majority and the race in the first district can be critical to a democratic majority. That is the most important reason I am voting for Dick Skare.

For far too long a Republican majority has prevented serious health care reform from being enacted in the Wisconsin legislature. The number one issue I heard as I campaigned throughout the district was the need for affordable health care. The Republicans have ignored the people on this issue and it’s time for a new direction in state government. Please join me in working for a Democratic majority in the Wisconsin Assembly and vote for Dick Skare.
