Bailey Rikkola Hits 1,000 Career Points in Win

Bailey Rikkola scored 26 points Tuesday when she reached 1,000 career points in high school as Sevastopol’s girls basketball won its Packerland Conference game at home against Sturgeon Bay, 95-23.

The Pioneers, who led 60-7 at halftime, had two other players score in double figures. Naomi Rikkola added 19 points, while Kayla Ranly scored 17 more.

Autumn Rass led the Clippers with 14 points.

Sevastopol, which improved to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the conference, next has a league game Friday at Algoma.

Sturgeon Bay (1-6, 0-4) next hosts a conference game Friday against Southern Door.

Blue Devils Down Vikings

Gibraltar’s girls basketball team fell behind by 24 points at halftime Tuesday before losing in Packerland play at Oconto, 67-33.

The Vikings were led by Andie Schar with 12 points. Betsy Lecy added nine points.

The Blue Devils had two players score in double figures led by Addisyn Viestenz with 17 points and Gracie Simon adding 10 points.

Gibraltar (0-6, 0-3) next hosts a conference game Friday against Peshtigo.

Southern Door Boys Fall at Brillion

Southern Door’s boys basketball team trailed by 28 points at halftime Tuesday and ended up losing its non-conference game at Brillion, 79-31.

Drew Daoust led the Eagles with a game-high 23 points, which included four 3-pointers.

The Lions were led by two players scoring in double figures. Jeremy Lornez tallied 20 points, while Owen Krepline added 16 points.

Southern Door (3-2, 2-1) next plays in a tournament Friday and Saturday at Cedarburg before hosting a conference game Dec. 20 against Sturgeon Bay.
