Baileys Harbor Appoints New Chair

At a special meeting July 20, the Baileys Harbor Town Board appointed David Eliot to replace Town Chair Doug Smith, who resigned earlier this month. (David Eliot is a co-founder and the publisher of the Peninsula Pulse.) 

Supervisor Peter Jacobs nominated former Supervisor Bobby Schultz to fill the spot, and Supervisors Jake Erickson and Roberta Thelen nominated Eliot, who has served on the town’s plan commission for almost three years. Eliot was approved by a 4-0 vote. His first meeting as chair will be held Aug. 10.

Eliot has formerly served as president of the boards of the Door County Community Foundation, Door Community Auditorium and Door County Visitor Bureau (now Destination Door County).
