Baileys Harbor Highway Resurface Meeting June 6

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announced a public construction update meeting to discuss construction details for the Hwy. 57 resurfacing project from County Q in Baileys Harbor to Hwy. 42 in Sister Bay. The construction meeting will be held Tuesday June 6, beginning at 5:30 pm at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall, 2392 County F. A short presentation will take place at the start of the meeting, followed by an open-house format until approximately 6:30 p.m. The project includes milling and resurfacing of the roadway and removal of the existing box culvert at Mud Creek and replacement with a single-span bridge. Other work includes culvert replacements, minor drainage improvements, beam guard replacement, permanent signing, and pavement marking. The project will start after Labor Day and finish in spring of 2018. Hwy. 57 will be detoured from after Labor Day weekend to before Fall Fest weekend in 2017. All other work is expected to be completed under traffic with flagging operations. Businesses can also get information on business signing and WisDOT’s “In This Together” program tailored specifically for businesses in a construction work zone.
