Baileys Harbor House Fire March 8

The Baileys Harbor Fire Department responded to a fire on Kangaroo Lake Road at approximately 6:17 pm on March 8. Assistant Fire Chief Eric Peil was the first responder to the scene where he found an active fire on the west side of the building. There were no injuries.

“The whole house was not engulfed at that time but the west winds got it going in a quick hurry,” said Peil, who added that the home was a complete loss. “We’re still doing the investigation right now. It’s hard to determine the cause because of the weather conditions and the wind. I don’t think we’re going to be able to narrow it down to one thing. It’s definitely not suspicious.”
