Baileys Harbor Looks for Big Energy Savings, Green Solutions

With major concerns about the fuel-oil-heated town hall, Baileys Harbor officials want a solution, but they also want to know all of their energy-saving options.

The town board on Monday delayed hiring HVAC and energy specialists from Trane to provide an investment-grade audit for an energy plan because Trane’s Thomas Huberty had not specified a cost.

However, Trane representatives told the board the engineering cost would be rolled into projects the town could pursue. Options range from efficient lighting, to solar power near the Rec Park and sewer plant, to a well for a shared geothermal solution for the town hall and marina office building.
