Base Camp Silent Auction Closes May 18

The silent auction of original pastel paintings and gicleé prints by Door County artist Kay McKinley Arneson closes on May 18 with a reception from 4 – 6 pm at Base Camp Coffee Bar. The free, public event was originally scheduled for May 17. Ten percent of the proceeds from the sale of the artist’s works will benefit the Newport Wilderness Society (NWS), a nonprofit, educational organization serving Newport State Park as its official friends’ group.

McKinley Arneson is a resident of Ellison Bay and Director of Marketing & Exhibitions at Peninsula School of Art in Fish Creek.

Low minimum bids have been placed on the paintings, with gicleé prints priced at $25 and $35 each. Bidding will conclude during the reception at 5:30 pm. Complimentary refreshments will be served.

Base Camp, open daily 7:30 am – 3:30 pm, is located below Ecology Sports at 10904 Highway 42 in Sister Bay.
