Bayview Bridge Construction Update

We’re one month into the Bayview Bridge closure in Sturgeon Bay, and the Department of Transportation reports that construction is on schedule.

“It’s going fine,” said Kim Rudat of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. “We expect to have it open by July, certainly by July 4.”

Rudat said the detour route through Sturgeon Bay has traffic flowing according to plan with few backups. The extra traffic has been good for some businesses along the route, like Bayside Bargains.

“We’ve seen more people in the store,” said owner Mike Pichette. “We’ve had no problems at all.”
