Bazyli Studio Wearable and Textile Art is open for its eighth season. Resident artists Peter Ciesla and Skye maintain their studios adjacent to the gallery, surrounded by nature and gardens, at their home north of Baileys Harbor.
The gallery features wearable art and 2D textile art, and it represents a small group of regional and national artists working in Shibori dyeing, weaving, felting, leather work, painting on silk, plant dying and eco-printing, assemblage and quilting.
Ciesla’s plant-dyed fabrics and clothing designs use natural (and organic when possible) fibers – linen, cotton, wool, hemp and silk – and his collages in the form of clothing and 2D wall pieces use fabric recycled from his past projects.
Bazyli Studio Wearable and Textile Art (bazylistudio.com), 2551 Ahrens Road in Baileys Harbor, is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm, and Sunday and Monday by appointment.
