‘Be Your Own Illuminary’ Opens at Woodwalk

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and the new abstract exhibit at Woodwalk Gallery builds on that idea: that each artist is his or her own light in the art world, blazing a unique path.

Be Your Own Illuminary opens Aug. 29 and features longtime Door County artist Christy Kelly-Bentgen, who has been involved in the local art scene independently and through the Hardy Gallery and Peninsula School of Art; Illinois native Charlotte Cziperle, who is also an accomplished art instructor and musician; and Milwaukee artist James Koconis, who is new at Woodwalk and brings a grand scale in bold colors. They all shine brightly in color, texture, abstract interpretation and creativity.

The opening features artist demonstrations, 2-4 pm; and a reception, 4-6 pm, with refreshments, light hors d’oeuvres and live music. To learn more, visit woodwalkgallery.com or email [email protected].
