BEGIN Music Series Hosts Tontine Ensemble

BEGIN is a creative music series held in the studio above The Artists Guild in Sturgeon Bay. Organized by William Bradley and Jon Mueller, the series features nationally and internationally known artists working in improvised and other creative approaches to sound and instrumentation.

On Feb. 2, 7 pm, BEGIN welcomes Tontine Ensemble as part of the series. Tontine Ensemble was founded in the spring of 2014 with the mission to perform improvisational and contemporary chamber works, as well as champion new music from composers in their community. Its four current members first played together for a Blank Radio recording session and immediately began rehearsing regularly. Allen Russell (violin), Molly Lieberman (viola), Pat Reinholz (cello), and Barry Paul Clark (double bass) are all classically trained musicians who teach and regularly perform in a variety of styles around the Milwaukee area and beyond.

The series is limited to 40 seats per event and no advance tickets are available. A suggested donation of $10 at the door will go directly to the performing artist.

The Artists Guild is located at 215 N. Third Avenue in Sturgeon Bay. Entry for the studio is through the far right door on the front of the building, up the stairs to the second floor. For more information visit rhythmplex.com.
