Belgian Heritage Center Receives Grant

The Belgian Heritage Center (BHC) has received a grant from the Door County Community Foundation to produce a video about the effects of the Great Fire on the local Belgian population. It will be released before the 150th anniversary of the Great Fire on Oct. 8, shown at the BHC campus Oct. 9 and 10, and made available for free to area schools, nonprofits and libraries.

The BHC (visitbelgianheritagecenter.org) houses exhibits, oral-history videos, a photo kiosk and a retail shop. It’s open Friday – Sunday, 10 am – 4 pm, and private and group tours are available. Visitors should follow CDC pandemic guidelines.
