Belgian Musician Performs at Belgian Heritage Center

The Belgian Heritage Center (BHC) will host Belgian-born singer and cellist Helen Gillet, Aug. 28. Gillet sings in English, French and Walloon. A free meet-and-greet conversation will be held at 4 pm with the concert starting at 6:30 pm.

Gillet is known for an eclectic palette that includes avant-garde jazz, French chansons, funk, alternative rock and the bohemian flair of the Velvet Underground. Her performance includes an enigmatic quality, with improvisational versatility and a true mastery of live looping technology. Gillet has performed at a wide array of venues all over the world and toured both solo and in bands with a variety of different musicians.

During intermission, coffee will be served. Belgian pie, water, soda and craft beer by local brewery, Thumb Knuckle, will be available for purchase. All proceeds benefit the BHC and its ongoing projects. 

Tickets are $20 and VIP Walloon Speaker tickets are $15. Advance purchase is recommended by emailing [email protected]. Tickets can also be bought at the BHC during open hours. Based on availability, tickets can be bought at the door. Call 920.389.1768 for questions on the day of the event.
