Bellin Health and Gundersen Health System have announced that they plan to begin combined operations Dec. 1. The two entities had announced June 1 that they were deep into discussions about a planned merger, which is designed to offer patients access to a broader network of services and resources to improve care.
The systems’ current headquarters in Green Bay (Bellin) and La Crosse (Gundersen) will remain and will have a balanced leadership structure that places each of the two top positions – the CEO and board chair – in different regions to ensure shared decision-making and equal representation.
Bellin and Gundersen anticipate closing on the merger Nov. 30.
