Big Brothers Big Sisters Hires Program Coordinator

Patty O’Rourke was recently hired as the program coordinator for Door County’s Big Brothers Big Sisters program. O’Rourke is a longtime resident, substitute teacher, tutor and volunteer for the Southern Door area.

The Southern Door School District has been selected as the first on-site location for the non-profit. Recruitment of high school volunteers has begun, and will continue through the next several weeks.

“I am very pleased with the initial response from the high school,” says O’Rourke, “but we have many children waiting for mentors. Our mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally-supported relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.”
