Big Top Chautauqua Performs at Door County DCA

The cast of Big Top Chautauqua will be presenting “Laurel Canyon 1970,” a touring show featuring the music of Laurel Canyon greats Crosby, Stills & Nash and the Eagles, appearing at the Door Community Auditorium on Wednesday, Dec. 29 at 7 pm.

Laurel Canyon is an important transit corridor between West Hollywood and the San Fernando Valley where Studio City lies, resulting in several famous musicians making their home in the canyon in the 1960s. The neighborhood was inhabited by the likes of Frank Zappa, Jim Morrison, The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Joni Mitchell, the Eagles, and Crosby, Still, & Nash, producing some of the most enduring music of all time.

The Eagles were formed in 1971 and produced some of the best-known songs of the era including “Hotel California,” “Take It Easy,” and “Desperado.”

Crosby, Stills, & Nash (CSN) first harmonized together in Laurel Canyon in 1969. CSN’s most famous songs include “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes,” “Our House,” and “Woodstock.” With several awards and credits to their individual and collective names, CSN is noted for their distinct harmonies and influence on the music industry thereafter.

The cast of Big Top Chautauqua will recognize these industry giants by performing renditions of their greatest hits.

Door Community Auditorium is located at 3926 Highway 42 in Fish Creek. Tickets are reserved seating and cost $28, $25, or $20. For more information and/or to purchase tickets call 920.868.2728.
