Biggest Bridge Tournament Held in Door County

Stella Maris was one of the winners in the Door County Invitational Bridge Tournament, held June 1 – 3 in Fish Creek. Stella Maris didn’t compete, however, they, along with The Clearing Folk School, were recipients of significant donations from the proceeds of this competition. Eighty players participated in this invitational. According to Barbara Piester, ACBL Sanctioned Certified Director of the event and owner of the Door County Bridge Club that plays in Egg Harbor, “This was the first-ever bridge tournament of this size in this area. The response was tremendous and the feedback was 100 percent positive.”

Feedback was so positive that a continuation of this event is in the works for 2016. The Door County Bridge Club meets Tuesdays at noon and Fridays at 9 am at the Stella Maris Parish in Egg Harbor.
