Bike Summit To Feature State Planning Experts

The Door County Silent Sports Alliance (DCSSA) has put together a panel of experts from around the state for the Second Annual Door County Bike Summit to be held Wednesday, May 5 at the Ladder House in Sturgeon Bay at 5 pm.

The goals of this bicycling summit are to provide an opportunity for residents of Door County to understand the benefits of bike and pedestrian planning in their community and how to give input into that vision. During the summit, participants will learn more about the economic impact of bicycling, state funding sources, timelines, and create a vision for next steps.

Presenters include Reed Dunbar, Bicycle and Pedestrian planner from Schreiber/Anderson Associates of Madison, and Tom Huber, Bicycle & Pedestrian Coordinator for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

The Door County Silent Sports Alliance would like to see input from people that represent all the facets of bicycling: people who ride casually for exercise and recreation, those who use their bicycle for transportation and commuting, children riding to school, athletes training for races, mountain bikers, as well as families pulling trailers and ride along bikes.
