Bill Scholten Named Friends of Wisconsin State Parks Hero

Bill Scholten was recently nominated for and won the Friends of Wisconsin State Parks Hero Award given annually by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Many call Scholten the original friend of Potawatomi State Park. He has been a tireless advocate and promoter of Door County for the past 17 years. As president of the board of directors since 1995, and chair of the Run Wild committee Scholten has been dubbed the “Ambassador for Potawatomi State Park.” Scholten will retire this year as president of the group but his legacy is established in Friends of Potawatomi State Park and the continuation of Run Wild.
