Birch Creek Introduces New Dance Series

Birch Creek is entering their 37th season and is introducing a new dance series scheduled on various concert nights.

The Percussion Steel Band concert “Fire Down Below,” on July 14 will kick off the dance series. There will be pre-concert salsa dance lessons with Birch Creek faculty member Orlando Cotto at 7 pm in the Dutton Concert Barn. The concert begins at 8 pm and patrons are welcome to dance throughout the concert. Adult tickets are $29, student tickets are $10 and child tickets are $6.

Standards of Ellington, Basie and Miller will provide a swing dance atmosphere on July 27 and August 10. Pre-concert music begins at 7:15 pm, and the concert begins at 8 pm. Adult tickets are $29, student tickets are $10 and child tickets are $6.

On August 24, Birch Creek will host “Club Tango,” a special fundraising event. Tango lessons with Rosanne Gorczynski will begin at 6:30 pm. Members of the Milwaukee Tango Community will assist during the dance class and will also perform during the concert. The Redwood Tango Ensemble of San Francisco will provide tango music. Adult ticket prices are $45 and student tickets are $18.

If interested in attending the entire dance series, there is a package discount; the adult package is $116 and the student package is $40.
