Birch Creek Returns to Traditional Programming

The Board of Trustees at Birch Creek Music Performance Center has decided to return Birch Creek to its traditional instrumental program of Jazz, Symphony, and Percussion & Steel Band for the 2015 season. In 2014, a pilot vocal jazz program was initiated under the leadership of noted jazz vocalist and teacher, Janice Borla. The inaugural vocal session met with some success in terms of both student enrollment and audience reception; however, the board has concluded that this year – Birch Creek’s 40th anniversary year – the resources at Birch Creek will be best directed towards its long-standing and highly successful Jazz, Symphony, and Percussion & Steel Band sessions.

The Board of Trustees is confident that focusing on the mainstay programs during 2015 will allow Birch Creek to return to its roots while celebrating this momentous forty-year occasion. Birch Creek will continue to explore ways to expand its brand and may consider vocal jazz or similar offerings in the future.
