The Birch Creek Music Performance Center is selling tickets for its 2021 summer concerts, all of which will take place outside, in front of the Dutton Concert Barn, with audience members seated on sturdy wooden benches and socially distanced around the stage and Kane Gazebo. Attendees may also take their own lawn chair.
Opening night will be June 17, with a Percussion & Steel Band concert, “Walking in Rhythm, Moving in Sound.” Six more Percussion & Steel Band concerts will follow, June 18-19 and June 24-26, with matinees held June 19 and 25. The June 24 concert will celebrate Liam Teague’s music as he marks 25 years at Birch Creek.
Symphony session concerts will be presented July 1-3 and July 8-10. Concerto Competition winners will give solo performances July 1, and special events include the annual July Fourth concert, with patriotic music and classical favorites.
Big Band Jazz classics will be performed July 14-17, July 21-24, July 28-31 and Aug. 4-7, when students will be featured in pre-show combo performances and big band numbers. Concerts will begin outside the Dutton Concert Barn at 7 pm, with pre-show music at 6:30 pm, unless otherwise noted.
