Birch Creek’s Faye Seeman Performs with Fox Valley Symphony

Faye Seeman, harp faculty member at Birch Creek, is an upcoming guest soloist with the Fox Valley Symphony.

Long-time Birch Creek faculty member, harpist Faye Seeman, will perform a harp concerto with the Fox Valley Symphony in Appleton on Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.

Seeman, principal harpist of the Chicago Sinfonietta and Joffrey Ballet Orchestras, is currently an adjunct professor of harp studies at both Wheaton College and Northern Illinois University. She recently celebrated 20 years of teaching at Birch Creek.

Seeman will be performing “Como Un Sueٌo” with the Fox Valley Symphony under the direction of Brian Groner (who also conducts the Birch Creek Symphony Orchestra). The piece is a harp concerto commissioned by Seeman and composed by Gustavo Leone (an alum Birch Creek Faculty member) in memory of Seeman’s father, Ernest Seeman. The Birch Creek Symphony Orchestra premiered the work in 2006.
