Birch Creek faculty member John Gaudette is in his sixth season of coaching students.

Birch Creek Music Performance Center announces bassoon faculty member and featured soloist John Gaudette will close the symphony series with “Red Hot in July” on July 6 at 8 pm and July 7 at 6:30 pm.

The program includes Nino Rota’s “Concerto for Bassoon,” a light, uncommon piece is perfect for the summer setting. Gaudette highly recommends visitors experience this concert repertoire and says, “Everyone who loves music will love these concerts. If you don’t like music, you’ll like it after this!” He describes the Bassoon Concerto as “exciting and beautiful for the audience and players alike.”

This will be Gaudette’s sixth season as a bassoon faculty member at Birch Creek. He speaks fondly of his experience as a performer and educator at Birch Creek. When asked what makes this particular venue so special, Gaudette replied, “I love to teach. The kids are all very serious about music and they grow so much in just two weeks. It is wonderful to watch them grow as musicians and as they continue on in a professional career.”

Tickets are $29 for adults, $10 for students, and $6 children.
