Birch Creek’s Upcoming Performances

Jodie DeSalvo will perform at Birch Creek on July 1 and 2.

Thursday and Friday, July 1 and July 2, Conductor Brian Groner will lead the Birch Creek Symphony Orchestra in an evening celebrating two landmarks: Chopin’s 200th birthday and Birch Creek’s 35th Anniversary. Birch Creek faculty member and concert pianist Jodie DeSalvo will be featured as soloist in Chopin’s Concerto No. 1 in e minor.

On Saturday, June 26 a full Symphony concert will take place, followed by a light reception and an opportunity to visit informally with Birch Creek faculty and students.

On Monday, June 28, in the Juniper Hall, Birch Creek faculty members will be showcased in a concert entitled “In A Different Light.” Concertgoers will enjoy chamber ensembles of varying sizes, including brass woodwind and string ensembles.

On Saturday, July 3, at a special concert time of 6:30 pm, the full Symphony Orchestra will present “Popsapalooza,” this year’s annual pops concert. “Popsapalooza” will feature works by Beethoven, Saint-Saëns, Mendelssohn, Wagner, Bach, and Rachmaninoff. An old-fashioned pie and ice cream social will take place at 5:30 pm.

Birch Creek is located 3 miles east of Egg Harbor on County Highway E. Concerts begin at 8 pm (with the exception of July 3), with pre-concert performances in the campus gazebo at 7:30 pm.

Tickets are $29 for adults, $10 for students, and $6 for children. For more information or to reserve tickets call 920.868.3763 or visit http://www.birchcreek.org.
