Bird Sanctuary Hosts Winter Open Days

Enjoy the serenity of Open Door Bird Sanctuary during its fourth annual Winter Open Days on Feb. 12 and March 12, both 11 am – 3 pm. 

Take to the trails to snowshoe, hike or cross-country ski (supply your own equipment) on about two miles of trail, all fairly level and traversing various landscapes. 

These trails are not typically open to the public outside of sanctuary hours, so this is a great chance to explore a new spot, visit with the raptor residents and warm up by a bonfire with hot beverages. Executive Director Rob Hults said the staff and volunteers are “really excited to give everyone this opportunity.” 

The entrance fee is $10 for adults, $7 for ages 5-12, and free for ages 5 and younger. Find out more at opendoorbirdsanctuary.org.
