Rise and Shine for the Inaugural Bloody Mary Social

If you’re looking to take in a Sunday-morning brunch on the water, join Destination Sturgeon Bay for its inaugural Bloody Mary Social – intended as an annual event – on Aug. 15, 10 am – 1 pm.

Held at Sonny’s Italian Kitchen & Pizzeria and Bridge Up Brewing Patio, 129 N. Madison Ave. in Sturgeon Bay; and featuring Door County restaurants and their signature versions of the drink classic, the event will pit participants against each other to compete for the title of Best Bloody Mary and Best Bloody Mary Garnish. 

Smell the Lavender, Sharpen your Knives

The Savory Spoon Cooking School is hosting an outdoor educational event July 24, 10 am – 2 pm, when attendees can learn from lavender farmers and purchase locally grown bouquets, sachets and buds for culinary use at the school, 12042 Hwy 42 in Ellison Bay. 

The Savory Spoon’s Janice Thomas will also share samples of delicious lavender lemonade and lavender ice cream, along with recipes for creating your own tasty lavender morsels. 

Back by popular request at the Savory Spoon on July 24, 9 am – 1 pm, Kelly Lewis, aka the “Traveling Knife Sharpener,” will expertly put a fine, new edge on home chefs’ knives and kitchen tools.
