Bits & Bites: von Stiehl Featured on Discover Wisconsin

Want to Help Pick Grapes?

Door 44 Vineyard and Winery invites community members to participate in a tradition that’s been happening every fall for thousands of years: the grape harvest. Vineyard staff will be picking grapes Oct. 14-16, 21 and 22 at 8:30 am, and there are 25 spots available per day for community helpers. Door 44 asks interested parties to sign up as soon as possible.

And in return? Door 44 will have refreshments, lunch and wine available, plus a bottle of your choice to take home with you. Learn more at 44wineries.com.

Discover Wisconsin Features von Stiehl Winery

Discover Wisconsin is shining its spotlight on four wineries throughout the Dairy State, and among them is von Stiehl Winery: Wisconsin’s oldest licensed winery, situated along the shore of Lake Michigan in Algoma. Located slightly north of the winery and the winery’s vineyard is Stony Creek, the oldest vineyard in Door County.

The Discover Wisconsin episode will air statewide Saturday, Oct. 9, 10 am, on Bally Sports Wisconsin; and the same day, 6:30 pm, on WFRV Channel 5 (CBS). The episode is also available for streaming now at discoverwisconsin.com.
