Island Orchard Cider Wins Silver Medal for Pear Reserve Cider 

Ellison Bay – Island Orchard Cider, 12040 Garrett Bay Road, earned a silver medal from Cidercraft Magazine for its Pear Reserve Cider, which is known for its lively, frothy effervescence and delicious, light pear flavor. 

Cidercraft is an international authority on cider with rigorous standards for judges. The competition included a record 450 submissions worldwide. Island Orchard Cider entered its Pear Reserve Cider into the category for ciders made with just pear juice.

New Online Ordering

Sturgeon Bay – The Hitching Post Bar & Grill, 4849 Glidden Dr., has new online ordering and has rolled out a fresh selection of coffees.

The Wait Is Over

Baileys Harbor – Chives Restaurant, 8041 Highway 57, reopened Dec. 26 after what the staff called a “nice, long break.” Its new winter hours will be Thursday – Sunday, 4-9 pm, with family meals and a regular menu available. There’s also a new French-pastry menu. Reservations are recommended because indoor seating is very limited, and curbside pickup is encouraged. 

Grab and Go the Healthy Way

Sturgeon Bay – It’s true that Healthy Way Market, 216 S. 3rd Ave., is a source for whole-food groceries, produce and superfood choices that support healthy lifestyles and a healthy environment. But it’s also true that it offers easy lunch and dinner options through its tasty Grab-and-Go food choices, made in the market’s kitchen and displayed in a new Grab-and-Go cooler. 

Warm your insides with the Take-N-Bake options that have recently included sweet potato, black bean and hominy enchiladas; and sweet-and-sour broccoli-and-zucchini lasagna. There are also daily soups that have recently included vegan creamy cauliflower wild rice; and coconut curry butternut squash. 

New, Wisconsin-style Menu Item

Sturgeon Bay – Starting Dec. 20, the Brick Lot Pub, 253 N. 3rd Ave., began serving broasted-chicken dinners. The full menu offers a twist on traditional Wisconsin fare, including the hand-breaded perch or cod fish fry with all the fixings on Friday nights. Both takeout and dine-in service are available.
