Bjorklunden Hosts Free Concerts

Lawrence University’s Bjِrklunden will host two free concerts in May. On May 16 at 1:30 pm the members of the viola studio at Lawrence University will perform works studied during the Viola Retreat Weekend with Associate Professor Matthew Michelic and guest artist Christine Rutledge, viola faculty at the University of Iowa. Works performed will include both ancient and modern arrangements for viola ensemble and masterworks of the solo viola repertoire.

On May 23 at 1:30 pm the students of the Conservatory Keyboard Department as well as the Horn Studio will perform. The program will feature piano works by Frederic Chopin in celebration of his 200th birthday. The Horn Studio, under the direction of Anna Skrupky, will play various selections from their upcoming recital.
