Bjorklunden Hosts Lawrence University Studio Concert

Lawrence University’s Björklunden will host a joint concert on April 16 at 1:30 pm. The Lawrence University Flute Studio, led by professor Erin Lesser, is made up of 14 students ranging from freshmen to seniors. They will present several works including the world premiere performance of “Fractured Focus” by Ilan Blanck. Blanck is in the composition studio at Lawrence. The program will also include music of Grieg and Frescobaldi. The students from the Lawrence University Keyboard Department will also perform 20th and 21st century solo piano works, the culmination of a weekend spent at Björklunden with Lisa Kaplan, the pianist in the Grammy-award winning new music ensemble eighth blackbird. This concert is free and is sponsored by the Boynton Society. It will be held in the serene surroundings of Björklunden’s Vail Hall. Entrance to the Björklunden lodge is located on Highway 57, south of Baileys Harbor, across from Anschutz Plumbing.
