Bjِrklunden will be sponsoring a trip to Patagonia set for February 17 until March 4, 2009. Participants will visit Buenos Aires, Santiago, and Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world, as well as cruise the Beagle Channel, explore Tierra del Fuego, Argentina’s southernmost national park, and visit a penguin rookery.
The tour will feature glaciers and spectacular scenery: green forests, crystal blue lakes, and the Andes’ snow-capped mountain peaks. Tour leaders will be Marcia Bjّrnerud, Professor of Geology, and Walter Schober, Professor in Environmental Studies, and Rik Warch, President Emeritus of Lawrence University. The registration deadline is November 15.
