Bjorklunden of Door County Hosts Free Concerts

Lawrence University’s Bjِrklunden will host three free concerts during the month of November.

On Sunday, November 2 at 1:30 pm, Anthony Padilla’s Keyboard studio will hold a recital, celebrating the birthday centennial of French composer Olivier Messiaen.

On Monday, November 3 at 4:30 pm, singers from the studio of Patrice Michaels will present a program of various songs and arias. The 60-minute concert (no intermission) will include English, French, German, Italian and Spanish songs, ranging from familiar melodies to lesser-known masterpieces. The musical selections have diverse origins, from Baroque to Classical, Romantic to Modern, and theatre to Jazz.

On Sunday, November 23 at 1:30 pm, Catherine Kautskey’s piano studio will present “Music and Remembrance: Music as Memory, Homage, and Fond Parody,” featuring a selection of piano works from the last three centuries.
